The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) Audit Committee met on Monday, January 31, 2000, at 1:00 p.m. in Room 314, Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building in Austin.

Chairman Heath convened the meeting at 1:00 p.m.
1. Discuss internal audit report on Archives and Information Services Division, and formulate recommendation to the State Library and Archives Commission.
Russell Gregorczyk and Chris LaPlante discussed the audit and answered questions from the committee concerning the favorable audit. The committee noted a few minor typographical errors.
After some discussion concerning disaster recovery procedures, Commissioner Armstrong moved to recommend to the full Commission the approval of the audit; Commissioner Melton seconded. Motion passed.
2. Discuss internal audit report on grants made to the El Paso Public Library and formulate recommendation to the State Library and Archives Commission.
Mr. Gregorczyk and Jeanette Larson discussed the El Paso audit and answered questions from the Commission. The Commission discussed several options that might improve the situation in El Paso.
Commissioner Melton moved to recommend approval of the audit, with the addition that the Commission Chairman appoint a committee of Commissioners, State Library staff, and El Paso citizens to visit with the El Paso mayor concerning the audit. Commissioner Armstrong seconded the motion. Motion passed.
With no further business, Chairman Heath adjourned the Audit Committee at 1:55 p.m.
