The Texas State Library and Archives Commission Records Management Committee met on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building, 1201 Brazos Street, Austin, Texas. The committee was appointed to consider and report on proposed changes to state records retention schedules and other records management issues.

Committee Chairman Freeman called the meeting to order at 9:37 a.m.
1. Review and comment on the staff proposal for the following local government records retention schedules: Records of County Clerks (CC), Records of District Clerks (DC), Records of Justice and Municipal Courts (LC) and Records of Public Safety Agencies (PS).
Chairman Freeman asked for comments and questions on the proposed amendments to local government records retention schedules CC (County Clerks), DC (District Clerks), LC (Justice and Municipal Courts) and PS (Public Safety Agencies). After discussion and questions of staff, Commissioner Holt moved to approve the four schedules with recommended changes to the commission and to post the schedules for comment on the Texas Register. Commissioner Waters seconded. Motion passed.
2. Review status of request from Dallas County Schools to amend the Public School Districts (SD) retention schedule.
Rick Sorrells thanked the committee and agency staff for their work to address Dallas County Schools request to amend the Public School Districts (SD) retention schedule Record Number SD 3500-09a. After discussion, Commissioner Holt moved to amend the retention period to Administrative Value (AV). Commissioner Waters seconded. Motion passed.
3. Prepare recommendations to present to the full commission.
Chairman Freeman noted she would report to the full commission on action taken at the committee meeting and adjourned the meeting at 11:24 a.m.
