The Library and Archives Commission may deliberate on and/or take action on any of the following agenda items.

The commission may go into executive session on any agenda item, as authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Gov't Code Chapter 551.


 

  1. Oath of Office for reappointed commissioners.
     
  2. Approve minutes of July 30, 2013 and August 29-30, 2013 Commission and Audit meetings.
     
  3. Public Comment.
     
  4. Renewal of conflict of interest statements and conflict of interest disclosures for this meeting.
     
  5. Review of consent agenda: non-substantive corrections in other agenda items such as spelling, numbering, punctuation, grammar, or other revisions.
     
  6. Employee of the Quarter introductions.
     
  7. Review and approve Audit Committee recommendations regarding:

    a. Internal Audit of Limited Scope Desk Reviews of Selected Grantees
    b. Follow-up to the Internal Audit of the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center.
    c. Texas Workforce Commission Review of Personnel Policies and Procedural Systems.
    d. Annual Internal Audit Report for Fiscal Year 2013.
    e. Internal Audit Plan for FY 2014.
     

  8. Report of the Director and Librarian: may include information or updates on agency programs (Talking Book, Library Resource Sharing, Library Development, Information Resources Technol¬ogies, State and Local Records Management, Archives & Information Services, Administrative Services, and Communications Office), key meetings and activities, Friends of Libraries & Archives of Texas, dashboard metrics, and the status of other new or ongoing issues.
     
  9. Review and approve contracts greater than $100,000.
     
  10. Adoption of amendment to 13 TAC 2.119, regarding the submission of multiple grant applications.
     
  11. Adoption of amendment to 13 TAC 2.310, regarding goals and purposes of Library Cooperation grants.
     
  12. Adoption of amendment to 13 TAC 2.512, regarding the award criteria for TexTreasures grants.
     
  13. Adoption of amendment to 13 TAC 2.711, regarding eligible applicants for Texas Reads grants.
     
  14. Report on the State and Local Records Management Division.
     
  15. Report on the Archives and Information Services Division.
     
  16. Report on agency financial information.
     
  17. Discussion of federal maintenance of effort requirement issues.
     
  18. Discussion of historical documents from the Texas revolution era.
     
  19. Executive session, as authorized by Texas Government Code §551.071, and §551.074, regarding consultations with attorney and personnel matters, respectively.
