Description:
Shows rivers, lakes, mountainous areas, states, Indian districts, cities, towns, forts, presidios, routes and trails with distances noted, roads, railroads, and Indian tribes and villages. There are notes on boundaries and settlements and several inaccurracies, ie. Mier is located on the wrong side of the Rio Grande. In addition to the United States, parts of Canada and northern Mexico are also covered. The map was attached to a book cover which has been removed. Note on book cover reads: "Free States and Territories colored brown. Slave states colored purple. The Red line show states in favor of the Union. The Green lines shows those for succession." 6/3/83
