West Texas Libraries Road Trip: 6 Days, 5 Cities, 7 Libraries

West Texas – The Texas Library Association (TLA) is kicking off year two of our Powered Libraries campaign with a road trip through west Texas to highlight the wonderful, creative work libraries are doing in their communities. The campaign tour will visit six libraries in San Angelo, Midland, Fort Davis, Marathon, and El Paso to produce video spotlights dedicated to each library.

Research Institute for Public Libraries Regional - Oct. 30-31

In partnership with the Colorado State Library and Colorado Library Consortium, and funded with a grant from IMLS, TSLAC Community Engagement Administrator Jennifer Peters presents at the Research Institute for Public Libraries Regional, which will provide 50 regional library staff with training on assessment, evaluation, and benchmarking. This conference is in Arlington, TX.

Get Involved Volunteer Engagement Bootcamp – Sept. 12-13

As part of a collaborative grant from IMLS, TSLAC Community Engagement Administrator Jennifer Peters hosts a bootcamp for 40 library volunteer coordinators at Lone Star Court in Austin, TX. Attendees learn best practices in volunteer engagement and develop a network of colleagues in this intensive workshop.
