One hundred and seventy years ago Henry Journeay, a Texan prisoner in a Mexican castle, crafted a violin using a razor and a piece of glass, which he then played to other Texans held captive by Mexico for their role in the Mier Expedition. Today Journeay's violin is on display in the lobby of TSLAC's headquarters, the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building, Austin.
