Document summary: Stephen F. Austin to Political Chief, 1826. Austin reports that recently a party of about sixty Comanches and Tawakonis entered the settlement of empresario Green DeWitt at Gonzales
on Guadalupe River, killing one man and wounding another, destroying all property at the house of Señor Kerr, and stealing all the horses they could find. The other settlers have entered this colony on the
Colorado River and do not know what steps they should take.
