Projected incursions by Americans and Indians, 1815

Document summary: Unknown Author to the Commandant General, March 13, 1815. The writer has received a report from the field from Corporal Juan Lucero that the Eastern Comanches, who were seeking peace, are now allied with American revolutionaries and Spanish insurgents currently attacking the province of Texas, with the aim to strike a decisive blow. The writer notes that Corporal Lucero is quite knowledgable about Comanches, but perhaps all his reports should not be believed. Still, the governor of Texas should be alerted to guard against possible attack.
