that I have combatted [sic] many of these
objectins [sic] very successfully. [A]nd if the
Santa fie [Santa Fe] Expedition succeeds it will
immortalize you, and tis believed that
Judge Burnett will carry out your mission [?]
in the event of a Loan as also in the
completion of the Santa fie [Santa Fe] Business[.]

            I shall do all I can to secure
the Election of Judge Burnett for
I consider Sam Houston[‘]s Elevation
would be a National Calamity[.]
