Executive Department of Texas
Washington Feb. 26th 1836

To Gen. Sam Houston.

Dr Sir.

            By the accompanying
information from Baxer [Bexar], you will see that
your presance [sic] at head Quarters is absolutely
necessary[.] 2000 Mexicans are in San Antonio
& only 150 Americans in the Alamo. Come quickly
and organize our countrymen for Battle.
Call the militia out en mass. Send your order
East by this Express for that purpose. Say it
is done by the order of the Gov. & Council & by
your own order, and by the unanimous call
of Texas.
