and that they promisd, [sic] to
those Indians the hunting ground. This came from
a woman[.] I give it to you
for what it is worth[.] She said
three nations but not the
cherokees[.] [sic] If I were at liberty
I would name the source
that you might deem what
it was worth.

            If any [M]exicans shou'd [sic]
enter your camp as friends
pay a due respect to your
personal safety!!!

            This moment I learn
that Col P.W Grayson died by
suicide in Louisville a short
time since! Poor fellow with
him lifes [sic] care[s] are ended!
