a blot upon it. Honesty is one of the
best ways to do this. You will then be
honored no matter what your station.
I desire to see you succeed and please
your employer. You should attend
to your prayers more[;] recollect you
are dependant upon the supreme one
for every blessing you enjoy. I am
glad you are leaving off that per-
nicious habit[.] You will improve by
it. You must learn to post the books[.]
[I]t will insure you better wages.
[B]ut I will advise you some
other time. [F]or the present good
night from your loving father[.]
