Jim Hogg's Campaign Speech, Rusk, Texas, April 19, 1890
On April 19, 1890, Jim Hogg launched his campaign for governor with an epic three-hour speech before a crowd of 3000 people in Rusk. Even Hogg's opponents hailed the speech as a masterpiece.
