   Austin, TX    Texas State Library and Archives Commission and Texas State Historical Association Seeking Applications for Research Fellowship in Texas History   

Austin – The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) is now accepting applications for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) Research Fellowship in Texas history. The fellowship includes a $2,000 stipend and is awarded for the best research proposal utilizing the collections of the State Archives in Austin.

The TSLAC Research fellowship in Texas history is administered in partnership with TSHA and made possible by the Texas Library and Archives Foundation, Inc. through a generous donation from the Edouard Foundation.

AUSTIN, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), along with the Texas Center for the Book, will participate in the 20th annual National Book Festival, hosted by the Library of Congress. This year’s festival will take place online, September 25-27, 2020.  The theme is “Roadmap to Reading.”

   Austin, TX    Students Invited to Participate in 2020-2021 Letters About Literature Texas Competition   

The Texas Center for the Book has announced the 2020-2021 Letters About Literature Texas contest, a program that invites students to respond to authors of books or poetry who have touched their lives. The contest opens November 4, 2020, and is open to Texas students in grades 4 through 12.

   Austin, TX    #TXBookChat Series Continues with Virtual Literary Events Through the Fall at the Texas Center for the Book   

AUSTIN – The Texas Center for the Book is continuing its the #TXBookChat series, a new online program from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. The #TXBookChat series offers brief discussions and programs with authors, librarians, and literary professionals. These informal “coffee chats” last about 30 minutes and offer a quick look into different aspects of the state’s literary world. The #TXBookChat series seeks to bring together diverse voices and perspectives.

   Austin, TX    Texas State Library and Archives Commission Announces TSLAC CARES Grants Cycle 2 to Support Libraries During COVID-19   

Austin, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has announced the second cycle of its TSLAC CARES Grant Program to help libraries statewide respond to COVID-19. This emergency funding comes from the federal appropriation made to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the CARES Act.
