JOB SUMMARY

Performs complex (journey-level) computer center operations work. The network operations systems analyst works as a member of the IRT network operations team to ensure the availability of technology resources; assists in the administration and support of the agency’s telecommunications, local area network, and the systems in the Windows environment; provides technical expertise and guidance to the desktop support staff; serves as back-up to the DCS Coordinator and performs IRT project management for assigned projects. The IRT Network Operations Systems Analyst works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Participate in the technical support of the agency telecommunications and local area network; coordinate assigned IRT technical projects to maintain and enhance these services; and function as the backup Network and Windows Administrator as needed.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the desktop support (DTS) staff.
Serve as an IRT Project Coordinator provide technical assistance and expertise to agency management and staff on assigned technology-related projects
Serve as a backup to the Data Center Services (DCS) Coordinator to ensure the agency resources at the consolidated state data centers are properly maintained and supported and new services are properly implemented and that all changes to agency applications, systems, and services are properly evaluated and approved before implementation.
Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies
Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures including safety and standards of conduct
Perform other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree including 12 semester hours of information technology-related coursework
Two years experience supporting Windows servers in an organization of 100 or more employees
Two years experience supporting a local area network and related telecommunications.
Two years experience working in a position which requires effective communication with technical and non-technical internal and external customers
Two years experience performing project management tasks in support of information technology projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, including coursework in risk assessment, project management and system analysis
Experience supporting Windows servers in an organization with 100 or more employees
Experience diagnosing network failures and restoring network services
Experience completing project management tasks in support of IT projects
Experience completing systems analysis in an IT environment
Experience supporting Windows systems in a network environment

Substitution:

Work experience supporting Window servers, local area network, and/or managing technology projects for an organization of 100 employees or more may be substituted for the education requirements on a year for year basis

Criminal history check required and approved of selected applicant before hired
Driving record check

SUPERVISION

Supervised by the IRT Division Director but receives project and task assignments from the Network Operations Coordinator; can provide guidance to desktop support staff as assigned.
