JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs advanced (senior-level) library consultative services and technical assistance work. Manages participation in TexShare programs, particularly the TexShare Databases program. Responsible for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of TexShare outreach and training. Coordinates activities of TexShare working groups; manages the TexShare Advisory Board. Assists division director and Statewide Resource Sharing Administrator with networked information services policy, planning and development. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate participation in TexShare programs.
Support participants of the TexShare Databases Program with training, information, and coordination of vendor-provided services.
Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate an outreach and training program for TexShare members. .
Manage TexShare Advisory Board and other resource sharing working groups
Develop and administer projects and programs to support local and regional collaborations,
Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct.
Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist as assigned with other division programs, including TexQuest and e-books resource sharing programs, Continuing Education and Consulting, and regional resource sharing programs. Maintain procedure manual.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in library or information science from an American Library Association accredited library program.
Two years professional work experience in libraries.
Two years work experience developing outreach and promotional materials.
Two years experience developing and providing training.
One year work experience using electronic resources in a library and/or managing the use of electronic resources in a library.
Ability to establish goals and objectives.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collect and analyze data, formulate conclusions, develop procedures and guidelines, design and conduct evaluations.
Ability to speak before groups.
Ability to move in and around personal work space and to and from other areas of the office and building.
Ability to work collaboratively and collegially on a team.
Ability to hear and understand speech to interact with coworkers and clients on a
routine basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience providing training on electronic resources.
Work experience developing training for library staff.
Work experience providing training for library staff.
Work experience with a resource sharing library consortium.
Work experience with long range planning, budgeting, accounting, statistics, consulting, management, networking or multi-type cooperation.
Work experience in different types of libraries, including academic libraries, public libraries, special, or cooperative library systems or networks.

OTHER  REQUIREMENTS
Regular travel by automobile and airplane. Some overtime, evening and weekend work required.
Submit complete undergraduate and graduate college transcripts.
Submit portfolio of writing samples and other relevant work products.

SUPERVISION
No supervisory responsibilities. Reports to Director, Library Development and Networking.
