Update and FAQ

July 2014 Update

With restored funding from the state legislature, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is re-establishing the statewide databases program for K-12 public schools. Download the complete FAQ here.

HOW DO WE SIGN UP?
School districts may sign up now at texquest.net

WHAT ARE WE GETTING?
A suite of resources from Gale has been selected for the program, as well as two historic archives of primary source materials from Adam Matthew Digital.

WHAT’S THIS GOING TO COST?
For the 2014-15 school year, there is no charge for these resources for Texas public school districts.  For the 2015-16 school year, districts that wish to continue will be assessed an annual participation fee in the amount of 22 cents per pupil, based on October 2013 enrollment data provided by TEA.

WHEN WILL WE BE INVOICED?
TSLAC expects to send invoices to Districts for 2015-16 school year participation fees in January 2015.

WHAT IF WE DON’T PAY THE PARTICIPATION FEE?
School districts that do not pay the participation fee will lose access to TexQuest resources.

HOW DOES MY DISTRICT SET UP TSLAC AS A VENDOR?
If your district requires forms submitted from new vendors, you may request those forms from: ar@tsl.texas.gov
