Welcome to the 2021 Texas Summer Reading Program!

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) supports Texas summer reading programs in partnership with the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). The CSLP is a consortium of all 50 states working together to make high quality summer reading materials available at the lowest cost possible for libraries.

The 2021 CSLP theme is Animals and Stories. The slogan for early literacy, children, teen, and adult programs is “Tales and Tails” or “Colas y Cuentos.”

TSLAC has purchased access to the online 2021 CSLP “Tails and Tales” Programming Manual for every library location in Texas.

This manual contains all the programming resources, graphics, and book lists for the upcoming summer. Accessing the manual online at any time will provide more consistent, reliable access than the USB manuals, which were prone to errors and easy to misplace.

To access the online manual:

Log in to the CSLP website, https://www.cslpreads.org/. The CSLP website account can be used by an individual, or it can be shared among the library staff in your building.

  • To create an account, click on the Login button in the upper right-hand corner. Then, click on Register found beneath the login box and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • This video tutorial provides more details on how to log in.

Once logged in, click on Manual Downloads located on the toolbar. From the drop down menu, select 2021 Online Manual, and enter your access code.

The code was distributed by email this morning through the Summer Reading newsletter and through direct emails. Contact us at LD@tsl.texas.gov if you did not receive an email with the access code.

This video tutorial walks through how to access the online manual.

If you are unable to access the manual online, contact Katherine Adelberg at LD@tsl.texas.gov. We have a limited number of manuals on USB that can be mailed directly to your library.
