As you may know, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) offers grants to libraries in several categories. In fact, our 2022 grant application cycle is closing soon.
Part of the process of awarding competitive grants includes a peer review of applications.
Reviewers are tasked with reviewing and scoring grant applications for funding awards from TSLAC. To learn more about our current grant programs, see: https://www.tsl.texas.gov/ldn/grants/programs.
Reviewers must commit to the following minimum requirements:
- Serving a two-year term (one renewal is allowed for a total of four (4) years;
- Reviewing 10-30 grant applications within a specified time period according to established criteria. The typical time period is 4-5 weeks from April-May; and
- Attending a review panel meeting in May to finalize scores and recommendations. Meetings may be held in person in Austin or via teleconference depending on the grant category. Meeting dates will be determined based on best availability of reviewers. TSLAC does not reimburse travel costs.
Please note that an individual cannot serve as a reviewer for a grant category in which their affiliated institution has submitted a grant application.
Reviewers must have the support of their institution to perform review tasks and attend the meeting.
If you are interested in serving as a peer reviewer on a TSLAC grant review panel, please contact Bethany Wilson by March 12 via e-mail at email@example.com. Please provide your full name, institutional affiliation, contact information, and grant categories of interest — Texas Reads, TexTreasures. LSTA (Special Projects and Regional ILS). Indication of interest does not guarantee placement on a review panel.
Thank you for your consideration.
