Texas State Library and Archives Commission LSTA Evaluation – Call for participation

Posting on behalf of Library Development Program Coordinator Erica McCormick.

Every five years the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) conducts an evaluation of its implementation of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States program in fulfillment of the requirements of the Museums and Libraries Act as implemented by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. The LSTA Grants to States Program is a federal program that provides funding to each state on a population-driven formula. Federal funding for the program in Texas is approximately $12 million per year.

Decisions regarding how available funds are spent are made at the state level; however, expenditures must be consistent with the purposes and priorities that are established nationally. This evaluation is being conducted by the University of Texas at Austin working with TSLAC. As part of that evaluation, we are reaching out to the Texas library community for your feedback.

Please take the time between now and March 15 to fill out the survey here: https://utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3sYGxIUqzae804e

We appreciate you spending a few minutes to assist us with this important evaluation. Your input will be invaluable in determining our success in meeting state needs.

Thank you,

R. David Lankes and the Evaluation Team
