DEADLINE APPROACHING! Get ready for the 26th Annual Texas Workforce Conference, which is scheduled for November 29 – December 1, 2023, at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, Texas! The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is co-hosting this conference with The Texas Chapter of The International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP), and TSLAC will provide scholarships to participating libraries that will cover conference registration, travel within the United States, lodging, meals, and incidentals. Attending this conference will allow scholarship recipients to build a network of other library and non-library professionals working to improve access to workforce development services, which can include but are not limited to adult education, digital literacy, and many more services for job seekers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Here’s a summary on how to apply:
- Peruse the NEW Annual Texas Workforce Conference Scholarship Guidelines/Notice of Funding Opportunity (PDF) for all the details about this scholarship.
- Apply through the TSLAC Grant Management System (GMS).
- All required documents and components must be completed and submitted in GMS by 11:59 p.m. Central Time, Sunday, October 1, 2023.

- Mark these dates in your calendar:
- October 1, 2023: Applications and required forms due in GMS

- Application packets will be evaluated by the review panel.
- Applicants will be notified of the review panel’s recommendations.
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be issued to recipients.

- November 3, 2023: Deadline to submit signed MOU

- Stipends will be released. Note that stipends will not be released without a fully executed MOU on file with TSLAC.
