Library Funding Opportunity from USDA

Join the Texas Library Association (TLA) for a webinar they’re hosting on Tuesday, December 12, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., to find out how your project ideas can be funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)!

In this webinar, USDA Rural Development staff members will highlight the upcoming Distance
Learning and Telemedicine Grant opportunity. Past recipients have included libraries, health clinics, universities, etc. Awards range from $50,000 – $1 million. Application is expected to open in January 2024 for a 60-day period.

Funds can be used to purchase or support:

  • Audio, video, and interactive video equipment
  • Broadband facilities used for distance learning or telemedicine (up to a certain percentage)
  • Computer hardware, network components, and software
  • Instructional programming
  • Limited technical assistance and instruction on how to use distance learning and telemedicine
