Free Texas Summer Reading Program Overview Webinar

Dig Into Reading BadgerTexas public libraries, register for a free “Digging Into the New Texas Summer Reading Program” webinar on November 7, at 10:00AM CST.

Join performer and presenter Kim Lehman for a fun and useful introduction to the new summer reading program resources for Texas.  Get the scoop on the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) resources, which include four program manuals that serve infants, preschoolers, teens, and adults.  Get an overview of these resources, as well as information about copyright guidelines, ordering support materials, and creating an online account with CSLP.  Also get answers to any other questions you may dig up about these exciting changes.

In early 2013, the State Library will also have additional summer reading training opportunities for you.  We’ll have webinars and video clips highlighting some of the wonderful activities, ideas, and crafts contained in each of the CSLP program manuals, and more!

Public Libraries’ Summer Reading Partners Can Now Order Materials

If your public library has a school or non-profit 2013 Texas Summer Reading Program partner, they now have the opportunity to order (at their own expense) selected Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) materials.  This new opportunity can be a great help for libraries who partner with their local schools or a non-profit organization for summer reading.

Orders for schools and for non-profits must be called, faxed, or mailed in directly to Highsmith/Upstart, CSLP’s vendor.  The special School/Partner catalog is available in PDF form, and contains many fun bookmarks, posters, and more.

We hope this helps libraries with school partners or involved non-profit partners promote their summer reading programs.  Questions about the special catalog, or other Texas Summer Reading Program topics?  Email us at ld@tsl.texas.gov, or call (512) 463-5465.  And if you are not already subscribed, don’t forget to join our Texas Summer Reading Program e-newsletter to keep up with the latest news.
