Each month, we post a list of free online CE and training. Want to read up on some of this week’s topics? Time to see what’s at the library! The Texas Library Science Collection is your library of professional materials, for you to use when you need library-related books, DVDs, and journals.

Borrowing is easy, Texas librarians can simply request titles by e-mailing lsc@tsl.texas.gov.

Digital Archiving – Metadata description for accessibility:

Miller ASERL (the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries) continues with its Introduction to Digital Preservation Webinar series with #2: Forbearing the Digital Dark Age: Capturing Metadata for Digital Objects. “Metadata is the key to both discovery and long-term accessibility of digital content… Topics include categories of metadata, metadata standards for different asset types, metadata capture strategies, and metadata software tools.” Tuesday, 10-11:00 a.m.
