The funding targets eligible public libraries serving populations under 20,000, who can apply for cash grants to purchase books. Applications for the 2015 awards must be received before December 17, 2014.

To be eligible, a library must: serve a population of 20,000 or less, be legally established, and be open for service at least 20 hours per week. Award amounts vary depending upon the net income of the Trust but as an example, in 2013, there were four awards of $8,000 each.

Announcement of the awards is made at the annual meeting of the Texas Library Association, and will be held in Austin April 15, 2015. The grant application process is simple – get full eligibility details and information about how to apply here.
