Submit Your Proposal for the Current Round of National Leadership Grants

2014 December 15

leading a school of fish imageThe Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is now taking applications for the second round of fiscal year 2015 National Leadership Grants for Libraries. Brief, preliminary proposals are due on February 2, 2015. Full proposals from selected applicants will be requested and submitted by June, 2015.

Grants support projects that have the potential to advance library services not only for the libraries awarded the grants, but also that have broader appeal for the profession as a whole. The implementation of successful Leadership grants results in new tools, services or collaborations that can be widely adapted to advance libraries everywhere.  The IMLS particularly invites libraries to address STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in their program and project proposals, as well as learning spaces in libraries, or national digital initiatives.

The funding range is from $10,000 to $100,000, and there are cost sharing requirements associated with  some of these grants – depending upon the amount and type of grant requested. Read an informative press release here, then link to the grant details to learn more about the funding opportunity.

Prospective applicants can also participate in a live pre-application webinar on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Visit the IMLS upcoming webinars page to learn more about attending one of the informational sessions.
