2015 September 4

grants notebook imageThe Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is now taking preliminary proposals for 2016 National Leadership Grants for Libraries and  the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian program. Preliminary two-page proposals that address IMLS priorities are due before October 1, 2015.

National Leadership Grants support projects that address challenges faced by libraries and archives, and that have the potential to advance library services on a broad scale. The IMLS particularly invites libraries to address a national digital platform, and learning in libraries.

The Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program supports professional development and continuing education to help libraries build capacity. Click here to learn more about both of these funding opportunities.

Questions about the grants?  IMLS staff members listed on the National Leadership Grants and Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program pages are available by phone and email to discuss general issues relating to the programs. Informational webinars will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at 3:00 PM Central and repeated on Wednesday, September 9, at 2:00 PM Central. For more information about the webinars, see the IMLS Webinar webpage.
