Regional Adult Education and Literacy Workshops

2016 January 20
by Jennifer Peters

Literacy Texas, the statewide literacy coalition, is partnering with regional literacy organizations around the state to provide free full-day training for staff and volunteers working in adult literacy. Libraries that provide adult literacy programming are encouraged to attend. In most cases, they’ve scheduled these workshops on a Saturday and are providing lunch.

Registration is currently open for the following:

  • East Texas Literacy Symposium, Saturday, January 23, Longview
  • Gulf Coast Literacy Symposium, Saturday, January 30, Pearland
  • West Texas Literacy Symposium, Saturday, March 19, Lubbock

You can visit the Literacy Texas website to learn more and to register. Future trainings will be held later this spring in the Panhandle and Central Texas.

The Literacy Texas folks want to work with libraries. They’ll be presenting a webinar on partnership opportunities this Thursday, January 21, at 2:00 PM with TLA. You can register for the webinar here.
