Upcoming Webinar: Lunch at the Library

2016 February 17
by Katherine Adelberg

Throughout the U.S., public libraries serve meals and snacks to hungry children through the USDA Summer Food Service Program, while other libraries bring books and programs to sites where children are fed. You are invited to attend a webinar presented by a panel of Texas librarians to learn about their programs, and to learn how you can bring the USDA Summer Food Service Program to your library.

This webinar will provide information about this valuable program that feeds children during the summer when they do not receive free school lunches and when many experience hunger. Your library is safe and inviting and has so much to offer them. You will truly enrich the lives of children in your community by nourishing their bodies with Lunch at the Library and their hearts and minds through your summer reading programs.

The webinar will be presented on Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 2:00-3:00 pm CST.  Please visit for more information and to register. Attendees at the LIVE webinar will receive 1 hour of Texas State Library Continuing Education credit (SBEC provider number 500799). The webinar will be archived for later viewing.

For more information about the program, please visit the Texas State Library’s web page “To Be Well Read … You Must Be Well Fed: Public Libraries and the USDA Summer Food Service Program” at
