Free Grant Proposal Writing Workshop in Houston

The Texas Historical Records Advisory Board (THRAB) presents a FREE Grant Proposal Writing workshop for archivists, librarians, and other staff members in Texas archival repositories in fulfillment of its initiative to support education and training for professionals.

Description:
This course surveys the types of state, federal, and private foundation grants available and provides information about researching and writing grant proposals. Topics include types of grants, types of funders, elements of a grant proposal, the grant review process, managing your grant project, reporting requirements, and funding resources.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the grant review process
  • Differentiate between types of grants and funders
  • Know parts of a grant proposal and where to look for resources
  • Identify alternative sources of funding

Who Should Attend?
Archivists, librarians, and staff members at Texas archival repositories who have a responsibility to explore and an interest in funding resources for preservation, processing, digitization and similar projects. An emphasis on NHPRC and other federal grants is stressed.

Class Limit:
30 attendees. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis.
