28 TX libraries included in first wave of E-rate funding commitments

The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), which runs the E-rate discount program for the FCC, has released its first wave of funding commitments to  applicants for the 2016 E-rate Funding Year.

Congratulations to the following 28 Texas public libraries who applied for E-rate discounts this year and have been included in this first wave:

Andrews County Library
Archer Public Library
Bastrop Public Library
BJ Hill Library
Bertha Voyer Memorial Library
Bremond Public Library
Chico Public Library
Cross Plains Library
D Brown Memorial Library
Elgin Public Library
Genevieve Miller Hitchcock Public Library
Grapeland Public Library
Hidalgo Public Library
Hughes Spring Area Public Library
Huntsville Public Library
Jennie Trent Dew Library
Johnson City Library
Motley County Library
Olton Area Library
Rylander Memorial Library
Sterling County Public Library
Sterling Municipal Library
Taylor Public Library
Teague Public Library
Valley Mills Public Library
West Public Library
Westbank Community Library
Wintermann Library

So far,  public libraries in Texas have received commitments totaling: $72,956.62

And this is just the beginning for the 2016 year; many more waves will follow.   These funds can be used directly to support telecommunications and Internet access costs at the library.  Join me in congratulating them on successfully applying for E-rate and receiving their commitments!
