Power Up at Your Library Day!

2016 August 16
by Jennifer Peters

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared Thursday, September 15, 2016 as Power Up at Your Library Day, and we are inviting all libraries statewide to participate in this initiative to help promote technology, innovation, and creativity in their communities. This is an opportunity for academic, public, school, and special libraries to showcase their diverse range of programs and offerings, including (and not limited to) STEAM-based learning, business and entrepreneurship, workforce development, and beyond.

To assist Texas libraries, the TLA PR & Marketing Committee has produced a toolkit that includes programming ideas for all types of libraries, marketing and promotional tips, and online resources. Elevate your events year-round and celebrate Power Up at Your Library Day.

Tell us how you are participating – we want to know and help you spread the word. Join us in responding to Governor Abbott’s proclamation, and register your Power Up event(s) hereTogether let’s continue to push the envelope of our profession, and collectively “Power Up” on Thursday, September 15!
