TSLAC Awards Scholarships to RIPL

TSLAC has awarded scholarships to six librarians to attend the Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL) in Englewood, CO, from September 30-October 3, 2016. (https://ripl.lrs.org/) The 3-day Institute is offered by the Colorado State Library and Colorado Library Consortium, and provides intensive training in evaluation and data use for planning, management, and demonstrating their library’s impact. Attendance is limited to 100 public library leaders.

The scholarship recipients are:

  • Brent Bloechle, Library Manager, Maribelle M. Davis Library, Plano Public Library System
  • David Cooksey, Performance & Innovation Manager, San Antonio Public Library
  • Toni Davenport, Adult Services Librarian, New Braunfels Public Library
  • Malani Heaton, Management Analyst, Irving Public Library
  • Elizabeth S. Hollenbeck, Reference Department Supervisor, McAllen Public Library
  • Diane Insley, Director, San Marcos Public Library

RIPL is coming to Texas! Through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to the Colorado State Library, TSLAC is bringing RIPL to Texas in the fall of 2017. Look for more information about Institute location, registration, and dates in upcoming communications.
