Get Your CE Credit with Edge Webinars!

Public libraries completing the Edge assessment become eligible to take four free interactive webinars designed to strengthen your library’s efforts in the areas of partnership, technology management, library leadership, and community assessment and planning.

The courses are:

  • Fostering Your Library Leadership. This 90-minute course will guide participants in developing strategies to:
    • Enhance their own leadership skills
    • Communicate the library’s vision, especially as it relates to technology and advocacy
    • Engage community stakeholders
    • Foster innovation in the library through staff and program development
  • Building Public Access Technology Services. This 90-minute course will guide participants in developing strategies to:
    • Identify the high-level tasks associated with managing public access technology
    • Ensure staff can meet patron technology needs
    • Foster an ongoing culture of learning within the library
  • Strengthening Your Library Partnerships. This 90-minute course will guide participants in developing strategies to:
    • Effectively advocate for technology resources
    • Identify and grow partnerships
    • Create an advocacy plan
    • Craft and deliver compelling messages
  • Assessing Your Community’s Needs. This 90-minute course will guide participants in developing strategies to:
    • Plan and execute a community assessment
    • Create and implement a technology resource plan
    • Regularly revisit library policies

These webinars meet the requirements for continuing education (CE) credit for annual accreditation, and are also available to all library staff members at no cost.

As a reminder, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission has a statewide subscription to Edge so that all accredited public libraries have access to the toolkit for free.
