STEAM in Preschool Storytime Workshop Series by Kim Lehman

Join us for an inspiring workshop on STEAM in Preschool Storytime by popular presenter, Kim ChildScientistLehman.  Following an introduction to research on STEAM learning in the preschool years and to the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Math and Science Skills Domains, Kim will engage participants in fun, hands-on STEAM activities, literature, fingerplays, and songs to enhance Preschool Storytime and prepare young children for success in school.

The workshop is for librarians and youth services staff who work with young children and their caregivers.

Feb. 16, 2017:         Amarillo Public Library – Downtown Library

Feb. 27, 2017:         Round Rock Public Library

Mar. 9, 2017:          Arlington Public Library – Southeast Branch

Mar. 20, 2017:        Dustin Sekula Memorial Library – Edinburg

Mar. 27, 2017:        Alpine Public Library

Mar. 29, 2017:        Tom Green County Library System, San Angelo

Continuing Education Credit

This 1-day workshop is FREE to library staff and participants are eligible for Continuing Education credit of 6.5 hours.  SBEC-eligible (provider #500799)

About the Presenter

Kim Lehman has 30 years of experience working with children in public Kimlibraries, schools, child care centers, and museums. As a former youth services specialist for the Austin Public Library and Connecting Texas Libraries Statewide, Kim has presented many storytimes and science based programs in library settings. Currently Kim is a certified early childhood educator and a professional musician and storyteller on the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster presenting both art and science programs for all ages
