Skillsoft access ends 6/30

This is a reminder that access to the Skillsoft platform will end on June 30, 2018. Our current vendor has chosen to discontinue Skillsoft, and the service will not be renewed at this time. Please enroll in and complete as many classes before the service ends. Also, remember to print your Learning Transcript or certificates of completion before access ends on June 30th.

We found that most Skillsoft use focused on customer service training and technology tutorials. Here are some alternative resources, most of which are available for free.

Here are some free customer service courses. The first two are available through WebJunction, which has a section of its course catalog dedicated to customer service. The third option is available through the State Library’s online training site. All three options require setting up a username and password.

Here are a few courses and tutorial sites related to technology.

  • LearningExpress Library, one of the TexShare databases, provides technology tutorials and courses on communication and time management skills.
  • GCFLearnFree – Courses includes overviews of Microsoft Office software. Courses are all free.
  • Microsoft Office 365 Training Center – The training center offers free tutorials ranging from short targeted videos to longer courses for users of all levels, from novice end user to IT professionals.
