2017 Texas Public Library Statistics Available

Thank You! once again, to the 550 Texas public librarians and library directors who reported statistical for their libraries for local fiscal year 2017. Collected data has been reviewed, evaluated, and submitted to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for national publication. Formal letters confirming accreditation were sent by email last week.  If your library should have received one, and did not, please let us know!

The statistics for 2017, including statewide trend information,  can be found the Texas Public Library Statistics page, https://www.tsl.texas.gov/ld/pubs/pls/index.html.  The collected information from all Texas public libraries is displayed in reports through Texas LibPAS, and can be downloaded into Excel files.

We have updated the Individual Library Statistics and Comparison Charts for 2017. This workbook has separate tabs that allow a library to view individual library information; averages within its population group and the state as a whole; and comparison charts with up to four other libraries on a variety of measures.

More reports and analysis will follow in the weeks to come.  If you need any information to present locally, please contact Library Statistics Specialist Valicia Greenwood (vgreenwood@tsl.texas.gov) or Stacey Malek (smalek@tsl.texas.gov), and we will be happy to assist you!
