What is New and A Review of the 2020 Texas Public Libraries Annual Report

Texas public library directors must submit the Texas Public Libraries Annual Report in order to be considered for accreditation as well as other agency programs. Library Data Coordinator Valicia Greenwood provides an overview of the 2020 report, answering questions about accreditation, financial reporting, collection and program statistics sections. This year’s report includes a special section related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Time permitting, there will be a tour of Texas LibPAS, the data collection portal. Excellent webinar for those new to the report, or for anyone wanting an update.

2021 Vision: Change and Growth in School Libraries and Media Centers

In this webinar, we will hear from school librarians and media specialists working across Texas. They will reflect on their unique experiences from last year, share about changes to their roles or work, discuss opportunities for transformation and growth in school libraries and media centers, and their vision for 2021. Join us to reflect on the past year and leave with ideas to try in your library.

Our panelists include Alexandra Cornejo, Library Media Specialist at Harlingen School of Health Professions with Harlingen Consolidated ISD, Amanda Hunt, Library Media Specialist at Oak Run Middle School with New Braunfels ISD, Elizabeth Reed-Smith, Librarian and Media Specialist at Clara Oliver Elementary School with Dallas ISD, and will be moderated by Amy Gonzalez, School Librarian at Newton Collins Elementary with Del Valle ISD.
