Making the Choice: Mobile Solutions for Your Library

In order to assist libraries to have a mobile presence useful to, and used by, their customers, TSLAC is initiating a program to provide subsidies to TexShare member libraries to develop or upgrade their mobile presence. The first step for any library wanting to have a mobile presence is to determine the best approach for its customers and community.

This training will explore the different mobile strategies for libraries, cover the pros and cons of each approach, and outline the considerations for deciding on a strategy such as cost, implementation time, staffing resources, and community characteristics.

What's a Webinar?

Short for Web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web. A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements -- the ability to give, receive and discuss information. Contrast with Webcast, in which the data transmission is one way and does not allow interaction between the presenter and the audience. Source: Webopedia.

CE Credit:

Attendance at each live Webinar qualifies for 1 hour of Texas State Library Continuing Education credit or 1 hour of SBEC Continuing Education credit for school librarians (SBEC provider identification #500799). However, printed Certificates of Completion will not be issued. Instead, a follow-up email will be sent 2-3 business days after each event to individuals who logged in and attended the live Webinar. Attendees are advised to save and/or print the follow-up email as it will serve as proof of attendance for CE purposes.
