Statewide Interlibrary Loan: Upcoming Training and Future Changes

Introducing TSLAC Community Advancement Packages (CAP)

We are excited to announce the opening of the TSLAC Community Advancement Packages (CAP) Grant Program. Join us on Wednesday, January 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. for a webinar to introduce a new grant program provided by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). In this webinar, TSLAC staff Bethany Wilson, Grant Coordinator, will provide a funding overview and essential details about the grant program and award information. Attendees will learn about Community Advancement Packages (CAP) designed to help libraries respond directly to identified community needs by purchasing items that will support and advance community development through library-sponsored programming and services. Each Community Advancement Package is designed to include eligible items that will assist libraries as they expand community services in specifically targeted areas. We will also answer questions from attendees and provide instructions on how to apply for the grant.

New TSLAC Grant Programs

Join TSLAC staff to learn about three new competitive grant opportunities for libraries made possible by emergency pandemic funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA):

  1. Texas Supports Libraries (TSL) Grant Program is designed to help communities respond directly and immediately to the pandemic as well as to related economic and community needs through equitable approaches.
     
  2. Texas Telehealth Grant Program will award libraries with the equipment and resources needed to facilitate a telehealth project at their library facilities.
     
  3. Texas Digital Navigators Grant Program will help libraries develop and implement a unique Digital Navigator program to help close the digital divide in their communities.
     

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) will begin accepting grant applications for these programs on September 3, 2021. Awarded projects will run December 2021-August 2022.
