This workshop will feature a session called "The Basics of De-escalation and Personal Safety through a Trauma-Informed Lens" led by Marty Reinsel, an experienced clinical educator and consultant with over 25 years of expertise in behavioral health and trauma-informed care. This session focuses on establishing the “basics” of de-escalation and personal safety, with a focus on the fundamentals of prevention, intervention, and post-intervention practices. We explore the four forms of safety, the three fundamental elements of personal preparedness, and provide insights and direction into the neurobiology of trauma and traumatic stress as it affects human behaviors and attitudes.
