Mr. McArdle Esq.

Sir: Yours of Oct 19th was

not received until after it was advertised, [?]

hence the delay on that account as well as

not being able to furnish you the inform-

ation you request as to arms and unif-

orm of the Texan troops. At the fall of the

Alamo, if any flag was used it was the Mex

ican as Col. Travis had not been inform-

ed of the declaration of independence,

which was made on the 2d. March, only four

days previous to the fall of the Alamo.

The arms used were rifles and muskets.
 

I have no pictures of those who fell

in battle nor of Santa Anna. Though I

have and am still trying to get pictures

of those who bore a prominent part in our
