TSLAC Launches New Agency Website Redesign
Wednesday, December 9, 2015 • Austin, Texas • News Release
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission is pleased to announce the redesign of our agency website, www.tsl.texas.gov. After months of careful consideration, research, design and implementation, TSLAC launched the updated website in order to provide an improved user experience to online patrons looking to access the informational services provided by our agency.
Highlights of the new site include a streamlined user interface, targeted informational categories, enhanced access to search functions and graphical based divisional landing pages. A key feature of the redesign offers mobile responsiveness to meet the needs of the growing number of users accessing the site via handheld and tablet devices.
“We believe the new site allows faster and easier access to the extensive treasures of our collections and the many services we offer in a more eye-catching contemporary design,” said Mark Smith, TSLAC Director and State Librarian.
In keeping with our agency’s mission of effectively providing access to information for all Texans, the newly redesigned informational portal meets and exceeds all ADA standards for accessibility and was intentionally built to accommodate the needs of the broadest range of patrons regardless of ability.
The updated design offers researchers, library professionals and patrons alike an unfettered opportunity to interface with the educational and informational treasures held by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Virtual visitors will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons through improved access to an ever-growing collection of photographs, documents, online exhibits and educational resources.
