TSLAC Announces Expansion of Online Digital Resources to K-12, Texas Public Libraries, Colleges, and Universities

AUSTIN, TX- The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) announces new additions to its ever-growing online collections available through its TexShare and TexQuest electronic resource programs. In response to growing interest in focused learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) the agency has supplemented the latest resources from the leading names in online educational resources, all of which will be available on June 15, 2016. Resources include:

Britannica E-Stax- Nonfiction and reference collections of eBooks focusing on elementary and middle school sciences, including resources for ESL students available through TexQuest.

EBSCO ebooks- Six nonfiction and reference eBook collections with almost 200,000 titles for elementary, middle, and high school students available through TexQuest.

EBSCO Legal Information Reference Center – Provides online full text for many consumer legal reference books, this resource contains hundreds of publications and thousands of multi-state forms to assist the general public in legal matters of all kinds. Available through TexShare.

Gale Legal Forms - A comprehensive resource of legal documents, continuously updated to reflect the latest state laws. Features include personalized forms, comprehensive descriptions of each form and its use, legal questions and answers from attorneys , and state-specific legal information. Available through TexShare.

Gale Science in Context-  A secondary science resource for grades 6-12+ also available from Texas public libraries, colleges, and universities through TexShare and TexQuest.

ProQuest E-Libro Premium -  An electronic Spanish-language platform devoted to research, with a focus on academic institutions. This database has more than 80,000 titles from over 500+ publishers – with 95% of them from Latin America and Spain, and is available through TexShare.

ProQuest SciTech Collection – This collection includes the Natural Science Collection and the Technology Collection and provides full-text titles from around the world, including scholarly journals, trade and industry journals, magazines, technical reports, conference proceedings, government publications, and more. Available through TexShare.

ProQuest Science and Technology eBook Collection - Carefully curated ebooks spanning coverage in all Science & Technology topics including Computers & IT, Engineering, Life & Physical Sciences and Math. Available through TexShare.

ProQuest SIRS Discoverer- A multidisciplinary resource for K-8 learners, including newspaper, magazine, and reference content from over 2,200 sources, along with 9,000 integrated educational websites available through TexQuest.

TeachingBooks.Net- A Prek-12 literature resource for over 40,000 children’s and young adult books, including Spanish language resources, also available at Texas public libraries, colleges, and universities through TexShare and TexQuest.
