Managing Your Records at Home: What to Keep, What to Toss, and How to Be Ready for Anything

Do you know how long you should keep your tax returns? What about bank statements or paystubs? If you had an emergency tomorrow, would you be able to find all of your important documents today? The Texas State Library and Archives Commission invites you to learn how to manage your personal records to be more organized, have less clutter, and be prepared for unexpected events. Records management expert Kim Scofield will teach you what you need to know about maintaining your records, what to get rid of, and what to have handy in case of an emergency. Free and open to the public, “Managing Your Records at Home: What to Keep, What to Toss, and How to Be Ready for Anything” will take place at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24 at the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building, 1201 Brazos Street, Austin.
