Scott McDonald and Troy Hoyles

Our Employees of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter of Fiscal Year 2001

Scott McDonald - Scott joined TSLAC in 1997 as a part-time data center support specialist in State and Local Records Management. He eventually became employed full-time and has been in the same position since. Scott's excellent computer skills, as well as his unique ability to communicate technical information to less-savvy users, make him an undeniable asset to the division. For example, Scott has been "exceptionally cooperative" in working with the records center services unit staff to resolve technical problems as quickly as possible, which allows the unit to maintain a high-level of customer service. Scott spends a good deal of his time helping other SLRM staff with a hands-on approach, and his support and dedication are greatly appreciated by both the SLRM staff and the agency.

Troy Hoyles - This past March, Troy assumed the duties of acting director of the Talking Book Program, in addition to maintaining his responsibilities as manager of reader services. Working two jobs at the same time is no small challenge, but Troy embraced his additional duties with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. In spite of the additional meetings he needed to attend, or the additional reports he needed to complete, Troy found time to assist his staff when they needed him. Troy's professionalism as well as his personality creates a positive, pleasant, and rewarding atmosphere for his staff. He's an excellent example of what great effect one person can have in the service of a mission. He has earned the respect and trust of his coworkers.
