Doris Drummond and Diana Rivera
Our Employees of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of Fiscal Year 2002
Doris Drummond - Doris has been with TSLAC for more than 25 years, and has spent her entire tenure as a reader consultant with TBP. Doris consistently works with diligence, perseverance and steadfastness in her position. She has been that kind and lively voice that thousands of patrons have heard over the years. She goes above and beyond the call of duty in showing courtesy, warmth, sincerity and efficiency to our patrons who call to request books. On several occasions, patrons who visit from out of town tend to gravitate toward Doris. The excitement can be heard in their voices as they finally meet her. One of Doris' peers commented that when she was in training as a reader consultant, she was able to observe Doris' interactions with patrons and was fascinated by the rapport she had built with them over the years. Doris was always taking extra steps to find out exactly what they needed.
Diana Rivera - Diana has worked with TBP since 1997. She started out as an administrative assistant and was promoted to supervisor of Administrative Services in 2000. Diana readily takes on responsibility, is very observant and is swift to offer assistance when help is needed. She has voluntarily taken on many Administrative Services tasks. When she was the administrative assistant, Diana handled purchasing requests, vendor research, travel documentation, installation and troubleshooting of PCs, inventory management and a number of other duties. When one of her supervisors resigned, she began doing additional work with expenditures and was entirely responsible for donations and requests. Diana was also of great assistance when another of her supervisors assumed a temporary position as division director for TBP. She did everything from helping with the budget to hauling around desks and filing cabinets. Diana is a cheerful, sincere, and hardworking member of the TSLAC team.
