Previous Employees of the Quarter

Texas State Library and Archives Commission Employees of the Quarter are nominated by their TSLAC colleagues and are selected by the TSLAC Employee Recognition Committee. Employees of the Quarter are presented with a Certificate of Merit and eight hours administrative leave at the TSLAC Quarterly Awards Ceremony.

Josh Muir and Naomi DiTullio

Our Employees of the Quarter for the First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2006

Josh Muir - Josh Muir is a Circulation Machine Technician in the agency's Talking Book Program. His duties include selecting, inspecting, scanning and checking out the program's cassettes, Braille and large print books and the equipment that patrons use. According to Josh's co-workers, he is reliable, accurate and is a valued team member and a credit to the agency. His work is accurate and he is reliable. Josh doesn't sway from his duties but stays focused and accomplishes much as a part-time employee. Co-workers say Josh is also friendly and amiable, which makes for a relaxed and productive work environment. "Josh is one of those people who helps make things run smoothly," a colleague said. "Things at work would be even better if all employees were like Josh."

Naomi DiTullio - People all over Texas have benefited from Naomi DiTullio's expertise and hard work in establishing the statewide videoconferencing system. From the grant writing process to developing training and even pulling cable, Naomi, distance learning consultant in the Library Development division, has been a key player in the project, and according to her colleagues, the main reason for its success. She worked with libraries and staff around the state, developed materials and delivered training, devised numerous documents and training for agency staff. Additionally, she helped agency staff use the videoconferencing equipment for their programs. "Her commitment to service has made this difficult assignment a success and helped agency relationships with our customers," said a colleague.
