Austin, TX--Sarah Jacobson has been named the next Director of the Library Development and Networking Division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
Previously, Ms. Jacobson served as the Director of the Talking Book Program Division for more than two years and prior to that held the position of Manager of Records Management Assistance for the State and Local Records Management Division for eight years. Jacobson’s new appointment will be effective June 1.
Ms. Jacobson said, “I am thrilled to be able to take on the critical work of supporting all types of Texas libraries.” State Librarian Gloria Meraz noted, “Sarah brings with her expertise from skillfully managing the complex operations of the Talking Book Program and great energy and vision for bringing robust library resources and services to Texans everywhere.”
The Library Development and Networking Division provides services to Texans through statewide resource sharing programs that expand the capabilities of local public, academic, school and special libraries. The division manages programs that provide training, workforce assistance, library resources and grant funds statewide.
