Kathleen Krause-Thompson and Zachary Bruton

Our Employees of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter of Fiscal Year 2011

KATHLEEN KRAUSE-THOMPSON, better known as “KKT,” is a powerhouse worker and an excellent team player, impressing not just her supervisors but a large segment of agency staff with her strong work ethic, organizational skills and professionalism. In her work as lead IRT programmer/analyst, Kathleen is always considerate, patient and willing to explain solutions, including the intricate technical details needed to accomplish programming tasks. Her co-workers call her the “calm in the storm” and praise the insight and intelligence she brings to projects.

During the past year and a half, KKT was one of the guiding forces in the successful implementation of the Drupal content management system, as well as the agency website redesign projects. According to colleagues, Kathleen’s “thoughtful, efficient solutions and unbelievable foresight were essential to the projects’ success.” In addition, as part of the web implementation team, “KKT always listened and respected everyone’s ideas and was a superb liaison between IRT and the members of the team, as well as everyone else in the agency.”

Over the years, Kathleen’s calm demeanor, willingness to listen and work with colleagues to produce agreeable outcomes has been a huge asset to TSLAC. Her co-workers and friends congratulate her for being named fourth-quarter 2011 Employee of the Quarter.

ZACH BRUTON has distinguished himself as an outstanding member of the State and Local Records Management staff and as such was selected by the Employee Recognition as one of the FY2011 Fourth Quarter Employees of the Quarter. In his role as a delivery driver at the Shoal Creek Records Center, Bruton has impressed his co-workers because he has the ability to work effectively and efficiently while maintaining his sense of humor.

Always willing to sacrifice his own time to help co-workers, Bruton earns praise for his dependability, affability and great work ethic. In addition to his regular duties, Bruton voluntarily takes on projects outside of his responsibilities, including counting thousands of microfiche and microfilm, performing inventory tasks, inputting non-system material  assisting other Agency Divisions with “heavy lifting” and even fixing ailing equipment. One supervisor notes that “he has learned everything there is to know at the Records Center and always asks for more work.”

Zach’s father worked at the Records Center in the 1970s; colleagues report that Zach is upholding the Bruton reputation of delivering clever one-liners and developing camaraderie.  His work partner, Rick Petrich, reports that Zach has the unique ability to “put anyone at ease” and is a “true pleasure to work with, especially because he can make any situation better with his humor.” One co-worker notes that “Zach is one of the few people who can work and make people laugh at the same time.”

Congratulations, Zach!
